Lou Gehrig gave him a glove as a kid, and 75 years later he sold it for $287k.

In the 1930s, Gehrig and his wife Eleanor visited their friends, the Henderson family in Bronxville, New York.

While playing catch with 11-year-old Howard Henderson on the front lawn, Gehrig noticed the boy’s worn glove and promised to bring him a better one next time...

He later returned with a glove he had used himself, signed with the message:

“To Howard. I hope you have much luck with this glove as I did. Lou Gehrig.”

Howard kept the glove for 75 years. In 2014, at the age of 92, he sold it at auction for $287,500

A personal gift and a piece of baseball history.
