@GodsavetheDMV@washingtonpost Technically no, but to be “like” God is hope that we can be invited into an eternal, divine relationship with Him. We believe Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs: heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if we in fact suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him
@AnniElocin@MikeWingerii We believe families can be sealed for eternity. Joseph was sealed to that young woman to eternally link the two families. It wasn’t a civil marriage like we know today. She lived with her parents and never lived with or had relations with Joseph. So no, that isn’t a red flag.
@AnniElocin@MikeWingerii The purpose of the Book of Mormon is to serve as a “second witness” to the divinity of Christ and His Atonement. The teachings of the Bible are interpreted a lot of different ways so the Book of Mormon can help clarify some of those teachings.
@AnniElocin@MikeWingerii I have read both several times. I read the Bible everyday. The Book of Mormon doesn’t contradict the Bible. If you have a particular chapter or verse, let me know and I can respond to it.
@BrettAMacDonald@washingtonpost@BasedMikeLee We are not children, nor juvenile nor silly. The truth is that God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are three separate beings. God the Father is a glorified being as is his Son, Jesus Christ. It is not Biblical to claim that Jesus is the same substance with the Father
@GodsavetheDMV@washingtonpost Yes, we believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and that ONLY through his atonement we can receive eternal life. We don’t believe we will populate our own planet. That isn’t our doctrine.
@PUNISHEDSTG@washingtonpost The Book of Mormon with Bible testifies of Christ, teaches of Christ clarifies the doctrine of Christ, preserves covenants with God, offers spiritual guidance and invites everyone to come unto Christ. So yes, good question, why wouldn’t other Christian denominations accept it?
@GodsavetheDMV@washingtonpost The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches the Bible. Its worldwide curriculum this year is the Old Testament. We believe Jesus died on the cross for our sins. The restored gospel is true and testifies of the Savior Jesus Christ.
@BrettAMacDonald@washingtonpost@BasedMikeLee If the requirement of being classified as Christian means accepting Creedal Christianity, that is fine but it would need to be indicated on the classification list. We would be fine being left off that list. We follow The New Testament Jesus Christ, not the Creedal Christ.
@BrettAMacDonald@washingtonpost@BasedMikeLee Yes, I know that. The Church of Jesus Christ considers itself a Christian denomination so they have the right to say something. If the Catholic Church considers itself a Christian denomination and was mislabeled, they would say something too.
@infowakening@ThoughtfulSaint Joseph was a prophet called of God. He translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ. We affirm monogamy is the standard. Throughout history God’s people have practiced polygamy on rare occasions. But you know that.
