@AmyfStuart Same here. We lived on the old sanitorium. McDonald was my dad, but his mom was a Clarkin from Emyvale too. Frank was my dad’s close friend since they grew up from birth together. Dad had 14 brothers and sisters so I have hundreds of cousins too lol
Wild strawberries will be out in about three weeks.
Wild berry picking was a huge thing in my childhood.
In summer the aunts would come home to Emyvale and a picking we’d all go. Gram, blind from the cataracts, would just swoosh the grass with her cane and sit and pick.
I went to Value Village with my beautiful sister Lois and when I tried to purchase these my card declined 😳 🚨 🙈.
The card had EXPIRED may 31.
So Lois took me to bank where they charged me $5 for a new card and said wait five to seven business days.
This is why we’re mad.
Ten years ago today.
I think about him every single day and hope I am honouring his legacy and the legacy of the rest of my ancestors. I would say I miss you dad but you speak to me constantly 💕
@AmyfStuart Yes Emyvale had and still has Carragher’s and Frank Carragher’s store was in downtown Emyvale!!!!
Keefe’s are generally from the Kinkora area but Emyvalians married Kinkorians because Irish Catholic!
