Last night at our City Council workshop, my opponent advocated for a 54% City property tax increase. I am strongly opposed to this. I believe the question of such a large property tax increase should be decided by the taxpayers through a ballot measure.
A key priority for the coming years is to build a community park in the Smokey Point area as well as a food truck court near the airport using federal grant funds. Arlington has a bright future!
Maintaining and building on the great quality of life in Arlington is so important to me. In the past few years we've established a family resource center, partnered with the Boys & Girls Club on after-school childcare, and increased community events such as Hometown Holidays.
Improving our local infrastructure is a key priority of mine. As Mayor I helped secure $40m in State transportation dollars for improvements (including widening) of 172nd St. This, along with the addition of two parallel roadways (173rd&169th) will help relieve traffic congestion
Public safety is a top priority for me. During my time as Mayor, we have supported the police, established a law enforcement-embedded social worker program to tackle the issue of drug addiction, and hired 10 new APD officers to keep our community safe.
Good growth, the VOA distribution center at new Smartcap airport building.
The center serves food banks across Sno. Cty.
• 8.7 Million #s of food distributed
• reaching 236K households
• 746K individuals.
There’s massive need at local food banks, everyone needs access.
I'm honored to have received the endorsement of State Representative Sam Low. Sam has been a strong advocate for local businesses. Thank you for your support @SamLow39!
I'm excited to announce my re-election campaign! It's been a true privilege to serve the residents of Arlington as your Mayor and I look forward to the opportunity to earn your vote. To learn more about my re-election campaign, please visit my website https://t.co/nt8ebuRE3e.
Arlington City Council approve ordinance criminalizing use of drugs in public places, another tool for law enforcement to address criminal activity. https://t.co/cvVtrTZ5VL
Nine years ago today we lost 43 lives in the disastrous mudslide. Our hearts remain with those who lost so much. I honor their memory at 10:37 with a moment of silence. #OsoStrong
