The kid in the elevator today made me smile- he was funny and chatty and unembarrassed about it even though his father was. I’m sure his father was relieved he wasn’t in an elevator with another jerk who snapped at him or pointedly ignored his kid like he was annoying.
Maybe that was true, at one point. Because I never stood up for myself. Because subconsciously I knew that wasn’t a sustainable life for the me at that time, so what was the point of being good with kids? But that’s not the point at all. Why adopt a diametric persona?
I do have an issue with loud noises, but I don’t think anyone looks at a kid throwing a mega meltdown and goes “love that behavior, absolutely, go nuts!!!” But it had gotten to the point where people associated me with not wanting to be near, or even in the same room as kids.
You align yourself with & often adopt the traits of, the people you spend the most time with, & I fell into the habit of not speaking to or engaging with children. What a horrible trait to adopt. I love children and animals. Why would I allow someone to change me like that?
In some ways, I am much more callous now. I know. I just… care less. I am unwilling to hurt myself in the name of anyone but myself. But, strangely, I feel free to be kind in ways I thought had become vestigial.
A rock opera for the ages from director Masaaki Yuasa (#devilmancrybaby), INU-OH blends traditional Japanese instrumentation with awe-inspiring guitar ballads to tell the tale of two friends who sing and dance to uncover the truths of their past 💫

blah blah there’s no time frame whatever but I really hate that this part of my life is happening in my 30’s instead of my 20’s like why did I DO that to myself
feel like I already never get to use my phone on the train so what am I really missing out on by driving my bike to work? Might as well pay attn to the fucking road instead of frustrating myself over shitty train reception
it’s the entitlement & resultant LAZINESS that drives me out of my fuckinh MIND. I spent 2 hours with these residents fumbling through a vascath placement, setting up the CVVH, and literally had to go into the COVID room every subsequent 20minutes. You couldn’t stand up ONCE,,?
Honest to god I’m so tired of this preferential treatment these pregnant nurses get. We’re ALL tired and we ALL want to cherry pick our assignments and REFUSE covid patients. Do I have to get inseminated to get a fuckin break???????????
Things I love:
one patient being 160kg and patient then getting another- THANKSGIVING TRANSFER- that is 130kg yES PLEASE CRUSH ME JUST MAKE IT LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO DO ANYTHING BY MYSELF
