Now confirmed by Red Bull, with Marko saying:
"Narrowly missing out on the world championship this season has moved me deeply and made it clear to me that now is the right moment for me personally to end this very long, intense, and successful chapter." #F1
🧵 The F1 scriptwriters went crazy 🤯
Lando Norris is the first driver to win their maiden championship since Max Verstappen in 2021.
Both did it in their 7th season with a team that signed them as junior prospects.
Both clinched it in Abu Dhabi where they both got their 18th podium of the season.
Both clinched the title in the last race of a current regulation set.
Both did it against a driver who had just won 4 straight titles.
In 2021, Lewis Hamilton was denied his 5th straight title but this time it was Verstappen who was denied his 5th straight.
This season, Verstappen became the first driver to win 8+ races & not win the title since … you guessed it … Hamilton in 2021.
And just like in 2021, a huge factor in Verstappen’s current season were two races that involved a collision with a Mercedes.
And now we head into a new set of regulations with a new world champion again.
Very poetic.

And clock Ice Man every single time something doesn't go his way either crying, whining, begging, hitting someone, or just being completely unable to keep it on track.
It's amazing how much more you know about the sport when you watch onboards and don't just listen to little sound bytes on the broadcast that create a cute storyline for you to follow.
It's like you might as well be watching DTS or something.
