This photo used by the beeb to highlight the hosepipe ban in Kent. Front page news story this morning on-their website and on X - https://t.co/qm2zGEuUUf. I know we have a migrant crisis in the UK but !...
You would have thought that their newsroom department could have researched and sourced a more relevent photo, oh well that's MSM for you.
What a shower!!!
Now two or three days of hot weather and this country comes to a standstill, it's pathetic. Back in the uk 50 years ago in 1976 it was 34.5⁰C+. People just drank water, kept in the shade and got on with life. That lasted a week or two.
A better story perhaps would be how the water companies are not retaing enough water in the reservoirs because they don't invest in repairs and the vast losses from a leaky, under-maintained pipe network.
The water industry in England and Wales is in dire straits apart from the inability to retain water of which we have plenty of during the year there is another major issue - pollution of the UK's rivers and coastal waters!
Apparently the UK water companies have now paid their shareholders, somewhere in the region of £84 billion pounds worth of our money whilst saddling these companies with £84 billion pounds in debt.
Over 70% of England's water infrastructure is owned by foreign governments, overseas pension funds and international investors. Do they give a shit?
