#ArrestAndAction thoughts — regarding the fandom stuff in the trailer, i think the people involved in the script should create their own material and not source out heavy references from the actors' real-life fandom. some would take it as something amusing and some would see it as mockery of some sort; but beyond that, and especially due to the given context, it blurs the line between fiction and real life — where the artists end and paohan begin — and it's worrying how that might impact the artists. i really enjoyed the trailer. i like comedies, i like them both doing comedy because they do it well. i think about ni being so excited in talks about playing wutkrai and i hope han made him feel the same. those two mentioned a bunch of times about wanting to do comedy, buddy cop comedy specifically, and they actually got it. i'm glad for that. i think it's fun, the dynamics are hilarious, the plot is goofy yet intriguing, but it needs to have a heart, too. perhaps the creators are still trying to find that. right now, it's anchored too much on reality, and maybe not exactly in a positive way. there are many elements to tweak, remove or modify. no one can ever satisfy everyone; there will always be people finding faults in every little thing. at the same time, it's important to make sure that the story being put out is something truly well-written, with thoughts of its possible implications in the real world and in the actors portraying them, and with sincere consideration of the kind of message the storyteller wants to impart.
(permission to tag @domedingdong at this part 🙏) i hope when the time comes, we can meet pao and han as fully fleshed-out characters. i don't want them to be shadows of real-life people, i want to know who they are — what ticks them, what makes them laugh, what drives them to fits of rage, what brings them to tears, what makes them smile brightly — separate from the actors. i want to see them on my screen and forget i'm watching fictional people, the way that ni's acting makes me feel. i want a good script for the actors i care about. i want to meet new characters i know i'm bound to love not only because i love the actors that brought them to life, but also because the characters themselves were crafted from the heart and with a desire to make good art. on a lighter note, please please please please please keep han's eyeglasses on. keep him nerdy, phi 😭🙏

it's encouraging to see the director address the concerns quickly. it tells me that this is being taken seriously. it hasn't even been 24 hours since the pilot trailer was released. there is enough time to develop a script that entertains the viewers, gives a space for the artists to showcase their skills, and adds something meaningful to the world. i believe that the people involved in this project do want to deliver something good and worthwhile.
i hope everyone sharing their concerns can do it kindly. they listen; they proved that with their prompt acknowledgement of the concerns being raised since last night. everyone is free to give feedback, but as much as possible, let it come from a place of care. there's so much to look forward to 🤍
