Dealing with sexual lust.

Overcoming sexual sin is not easy. Many men and women (including some Christians) have been battling with sexual lust — the lust of the flesh.

The good news is Christ empowers us to overcome all we surrender to Him alone. He strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). So, deal with sexual lust by first routing your heart and mind to God, to Jesus Christ.

Pray over it. Commit yourself to studying Scripture as a Christian. Live by what you study. It’s key. May the Holy Spirit enable you to prevail. Also, check your thoughts, affections, interests, choices, decisions — when it comes to sex.

Avoid things and places that arouse your mind to indulge in illicit sex. Know that, as long as the Bible calls it sin, you or others will be hurt by your actions or choice for illicit sexual pleasure. Sex is fun and nice, but the lust for it usually ends up in pain and regret. It could even be ruinous (Proverbs 5-7).

Decide to shun illicit sex today. You’ll be a better man. As a woman, you will see you true place in society. Align all your sexual choices with Scripture. God will be pleased. You’ll be able to build healthy, happier relationships with the opposite sex.
