“Becoming your dad is one of the greatest blessings that we have.”
The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) published a 9-minute feature video about the legal adoption story of Dr. Eldonn Lubguban and Gerardo Aranas.
"Raising Uriel for the past decade brought Doc Eldonn and Gerardo closer and made them see life differently. With a child now at the heart of the home they built, they worked harder to create a stable life and became more intentional about the years ahead," the NACC wrote on Facebook as part of its 'Love Makes a Family' campaign.
In the video, it was narrated that Lubguban legally adopted Uriel as a solo parent.
"As Uriel grew, they also realized the importance of legally recognizing their bond as parent and child. This led them to pursue legal adoption and ensure that his rights are recognized under the law," the NACC added.
Aranas currently is not a legal parent, with no parental authority and inheritance capacity under law. He also does not automatically acquire custody, consent, succession, school, medical-decision, or travel authority over Uriel.
"Hopefully someday namagkakaroon ng same rights, 'no. It's not now, pero someday, habang mas magiging open-minded na 'yung mga tao at saka meron na talagang rules or policy on that. But then, right now, masaya na kami sa kung anong mayroon, kung ano 'yung na-achieve namin ngayon," said Aranas.

@rodmagaru Ibig sabihin na yung announcement was intended to come before the event itself. Merong issue with the timing, it points more to a lapse from the artist's social media team or management in following the agreed posting schedule, rather than anything else.
@rodmagaru Per Management there was a "proper posting schedule," but that doesn't align with the artist's post, which explicitly said "will be performing." The phrase "will be" clearly indicates a future event that was announced in advance.
@binnishie Based on my own experience, I've almost always had coworkers who are members of the INC, so it wouldn't be surprising if some are employed there as well.
@binnishie It's only Net25 that chose not to mention the name of the food chain, likely due to its own broadcasting policies or editorial standards. Regardless, it's entirely possible that there are members of the INC who work for or even hold management positions within that food chain..
