Trump's Faith leader needs to be removed immediately. This is blasphemy!
When God showed me a vision at an early age, all those who fell under the sound of my voice were saved, and all those who didn’t fell into darkness. - Paula White-Cain

Nora’s spot-on, here.
And when SSL cert expirations are part of an incident and they’re “so simple” the spotlight tends to shine not on the complexity, but on the competence of a team surrounding it.
This is called “distancing through differencing” https://t.co/f7tUBJqY9O
It’s just an expired milk carton. “Why can’t you just check the date before you drink it?” Well, because your house has 10,000 fridges and there’s no telling which one the expired milk is in.
These incidents are a fan favorite because they *seem* so simple
Narrator: they’re not
Something I now feel confident about: significant incidents that involve SSL cert expirations are rarely about SSL cert expirations.
They provide a nice and neatly-packaged scapegoat candidate for an org to ride into a sunset named “certainty” or “closure”.
@BigSQL @editingemily I honestly don't understand. Do you want Trump to have equal power to force everyone to stay in their houses? That's not the way the government works, and I wouldn't want that no matter who is in power. The majority of power was left to the states under the original intent.
@allspaw A lot of complex systems theory and human factors is applicable to society at large. It's interesting to me to see people who firmly believe they're applicable in companies, but not society. It's very hard to change the fundamentals of our thinking as it disrupts all our beliefs.
@allspaw@jrosenberg Yes. I've introduced CAP at multiple companies, and it's usually met with we don't need that. Our app is simple. Then I say you have over 1000 nodes and a SAN that is constantly having issues because the C is hard if you also want A. Then they kinda get it, but it's hard to fix.
@swagitda_ I literally don't even open 90% of my emails now because of a team that kept doing this. I open a lot of emails on my phone which didn't let me see sender info. Then we all got punished by more training. I just use Slack or someone has to call me to get me to look at their email.
Meanwhile, liquor stores are considered essential businesses. This shouldn't be a hard court case to win. Now you're taking my rights away and you're going to give away more of my tax money later in a court battle loss for the state. This is an absolute disgrace.
