FRV uses signed collateral valuations to monitor loans against predefined margin-call and liquidation thresholds.

When collateral coverage falls below the required level, the protocol applies the relevant margin-call, cure, or liquidation rules.

Depending on the facility's terms and the applicable threshold, the borrower may need to restore collateral coverage or reduce the outstanding debt.

If liquidation is required, the pledged assets are used to recover the loan's outstanding obligations.

The objective is to intervene before declining collateral value becomes a realized credit loss.

But liquidation isn't a guarantee. Rapid market movements, execution delays, or insufficient collateral can still result in losses.

A margin call is a risk-management intervention, not necessarily a realized loss.
