Indians take example of Japan in football to dismiss the topic of PIO/OCI inclusion but what they don't know- Japan initially relied heavily on naturalized foreign born players to elevate the technical level of local players & qualify for their first ever FIFA WC in 1998. (1/3)

Com isso, o trio de ataque do Brasil deve ser formado por Vini Jr, Raphinha e Ancelotti.
Even before travelling to Aizawl, I had already heard so much about the RFYC Naupang League and how it could be a game-changer for #IndianFootball https://t.co/o2eG9LIlzG because it is trying to solve two of the biggest problems in our ecosystem: age fraud and the lack of competitive matches for U-12 players.
Now, after getting the chance to watch it firsthand and speak to all the stakeholders involved, I genuinely believe that if this type of baby league can be implemented across India’s football hotbeds, it could become part of the answer to the question the whole country asks every four years: when will India qualify for the FIFA World Cup?
I still remember what the Japan U-17 head coach told me after India’s 4-8 defeat when I asked what India could learn from Japanese football. He said, “India have 5-7 very good players here, but do you know we have 23 players in this squad and another 250 players of the same age group back home available for selection.”
What he meant was simple: you don’t just develop 10-12 good players or one strong generation, you develop a pool of 250 players in every age group so coaches always have quality options to choose from.
The @KhelNow team has worked hard to bring this original story, and hopefully other State FAs and organisations with major CSR projects can study and implement what Reliance Foundation and Mizoram Football Association have done through the Naupang League.
Do watch and share your feedback. @RFYoungChamps@RFYouthSports@MizoramFootball
2014 World Cup Wales didn't qualify but Wilfried Bony was in the Ivory Coast squad, so every pub in Swansea got out their Ireland flag from the 6 nations and reversed it
i love how fifa world cup reminds you of different stages of life, whom you watched it with, where were you at that time, what your world was like, whom were you sharing the scores with, whom were you fighting for your favourite player with, pure nostalgia
