No pride, nothing. Completely unbothered that Barcelona will celebrate the title in front of them. It's like they want it to happen.
Wish Florentino was here to see it in person.
To those Portuguese colleagues who since Tuesday have mixed celebrations and abuse (visible from the stands, allegedly from a rival player). You have to make a distinction between both of them.
Football lives on emotion. Goals are celebrated with joy, relief, defiance, and yes, sometimes even with a touch of provocation. If a player goes too far, there are mechanisms within the game to deal with it: a yellow card, criticism, a debate about sportsmanship. But… that belongs to the sporting sphere.
Racist chants, verbal abuse from the stands (and the insult from Prestianni that he decided to hide from the world, if it was racist) and the throwing of objects belong to a completely different sphere.
They are not part of rivalry. They are not “passion.” They are not an understandable response to a celebration. They are misconduct, in many cases CRIMINAL behaviour, and they cross the boundary from competition into harm.
Once we say, “Yes, but he provoked them,” we blur that line. We shift the focus from those who chose to insult, racially abuse or throw objects, and place it on the player who scored a goal. That conflation is dangerous. It suggests that abuse can be triggered, mitigated or explained away.
IT CANNOT
You can debate whether a celebration was excessive. That is a football conversation. It is governed by the rules of the game
You cannot justify racism, or verbal abuse. That is a matter of dignity and basic standards of behaviour, which are governed by the rules of society
THEY MUST NEVER BE CONFUSED
They Chose the Wrong Man to Silence.
It’s convenient for many if victims of racism just put their heads down and get on with their business. Vinícius Jr. is not that guy. He will not look down or away.

I have never seen a technology or feature being forced on people as much as AI. Every day some project or tool I use either opts me into AI help without asking or CONSTANTLY nags me to use it. It's shocking, really. Makes me wonder how badly the sales of these tools are going.
I did this video nearly 3 years ago on how the Spanish media treated Vinicius Junior after he was racially abused in Valencia. I urge you to watch it to get an understanding of the mindset of victim blaming, because it's been going on a long time.
