The urgency of climate change has never been clearer, the IPCC makes clear. Humanity may soon lose its “brief and rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all.”

We're back on! Am I yet old enough to now carry the "I can't believ we're protesting this $hit!" since I was in on whatever round of Moral Mondays took place about a decade go?
@larkpod same! I'm doing it for Lent which I in zero way shape or form celebrate. I've never even given something up for Lent before & I was raised roughly celebrating Easter. I just wanna clear out the cobwebs heading into spring. I like this idea of asking partner to change pwrd. C+V.
@lriversiii I didn't know! What a loss for FER but what an exciting (and important) gain for EPA. Best wishes on your new endeavor and I can't wait to see how you make good trouble. I'd love to see you and your family sometime this spring!!
I'd like to think that our comments helped, y'all. what a bright spot of relief in a week that's felt like it's been heavily layered with darkness & anxiety at multiple scales. ❤️💛💙 (but don't read the comments here, obvs.)
Today I gave a talk to 100+ people on Holding Space in Uneasy Times. We stopped multiple times to journal and process together. I thought I'd share a few of those journal prompts with you in case you need them today.
to parents of trans kids across the country, if i can recommend one thing to work on today (besides hugging your babies harder than ever) it's to start building a "safe folder"
@chachina@iansample@adamhfinn right? It's like editors have never heard of framing devices...or they have and their anti-vax opinions got in the way of good editorial choices.
Americans are productive AF.
But there isn't much community.
No after-work meetups at the pub. No popping over to neighbors houses unannounced. No kids playing with other kids and group dinners several nights / wk.
And I think thats why most Americans are miserable.
@jer_science can you explain how electric power is separate from residential? are the electric power emissions extracting, processing, getting it to 'grid' etc and residential how much is used at any given home?
I want cable news to cover the child poverty rate in America going up 41% last month, Starbucks illegally firing pro-union workers, the existential threat of climate change and 745 oligarchs in America becoming $2.1 trillion richer during the pandemic as much as it covers war.
@RLStrnad I'm extra salty about it this week: my immunocompromised dad tested positive yesterday and b/c we have regular close contact, my nuclear family is also quarantining until testing on Fri. our pod (which includes my parents) has avoided covid for 2 years! it's just NOT OVER!
Even tho my child isn't yet part of DPS, I submitted a comment about how removing mask protections would impact families with kids under 5 and/or immunocompromised members of households. Please consider submitting a comment if you support continued protections.
