@BreeSolstad Its a solemnity and according to Canon law is not a day of penance. If you want to abstain today thats totally fine but its not mandatory today for any Catholic. Why are you telling people to not obey canon law? Its just prideful and arrogant
@BreeSolstad Or do it, because it's just a solemnity.
Why are you like this? Why are you telling people that they shouldn't do something that the Church explicitly allows for them to do and actually encourages them to do?
@WhiteHouse Let's hope you can stop focusing on foreign nations and start turning your attention to the needs of the actual country of which you are president. There's a lot that needs fixing at home.
Some were upset that Pope Leo said sexual sins are not as grave as other sins, like injustice and oppression.
This is theologically sound, and accords with Aquinas. (Note that the pope did not say sexual sins are not important -- of course they are; they are mortal sins -- only that they are not as grave as certain other sins.)
St. Thomas Aquinas says the worst sin of all is hatred of God. He also explains that, all things being equal, "Spiritual sins are of greater guilt than carnal sins."
"[O]f the seven capital sins five are spiritual (pride, greed, wrath, envy, sloth), and two carnal (lust, gluttony)."
The reason sexual sins are grave is not merely because they are illicit pleasure, or wrong use of the body; they are fundamentally grave because they use another person as an object for personal gratification.
Each person is created in the image of God, with profound dignity, and is meant to be loved, not used. To use another person for one's own ends is a desecration of the human person, who bears the imago Dei. And that unlawful use can be applied towards many ends: lust, power, greed, etc.

Shooting at WHCD!! Five shots fired! Trump and Vance taken out of the building. They appear to be fine. Reports that the shooter has been killed. Violence is never the answer. Another sad day in America!
Protestantism and the Enlightenment (each falsely accredited for America's founding/framing) each rejected the classical natural law tradition, without which a republic cannot adduce its needed sine qua nons:
✅natural rights in the Declaration
✅subsidiarity (states' rights/police power) in the Constitution
✅virtue ethics in the populace
✅State estabs of religion (cuius regio eius religio), as in the 1st Amendment
✅sacramental understanding of family
✅science/tech sector w/ a proper philosophy of nature
The statements made by President Trump on Truth Social regarding the Pope were entirely inappropriate and disrespectful. They don’t contribute at all to a constructive conversation. It is the Pope’s prerogative to articulate Catholic doctrine and the principles that govern the moral life. In regard to the concrete application of those principles, people of good will can and do disagree. I would warmly recommend that serious Catholics within the Trump administration–Secretary Rubio, Vice President Vance, Ambassador Brian Burch, and others–might meet with Vatican officials so that a real dialogue can take place. This is far preferable to the statements on social media.
I am very grateful for the many ways that the Trump administration has reached out to Catholics and other people of faith. It has been a high honor to serve on the Religious Liberty Commission. No President in my lifetime has shown a greater dedication to defending our first liberty. All that said, I think the President owes the Pope an apology.
@StepheniaOmeh War is fundamentally a moral issue, a subject firmly within the ken of the pope. I am grateful he's speaking out against this pointless, unjust war that's led to the needless death of our servicemen, as well as thousands of civilians.
Friends, Easter Vigil is the grandest, most splendid, longest liturgy of the year. It is the greatest expression of the Church’s liturgical life. God bless you.
Piers Morgan forced Cenk to watch our video.
In our original video, we exposed The Young Turks’ antisemitic shift over the years. When Piers confronted Cenk about it, he dismissed it and called us “Israel First,” a term popularized by the antisemitic far right.
For Cenk, as long as you replace every anti-Jewish trope with “Israel,” you can get away with it. Jews as the “puppet masters” behind the scenes. Jewish control of the media and government. Jews as greedy money lovers. All of that is permitted if you only switch one word?

Sure, I might be untalented. Up to others to decide.
But I can deduce that voting “no” on legislation that would cut arms to Israel amounts to supporting U.S. funded arms to Israel…as they carry out war crimes and atrocities daily.
Those crimes are committed with zero fear of blowback thanks to the defensive capabilities Americans are forced to bankroll.
In addition to voting no on that legislation last year, in 2021 you originally (and correctly) voted “no” on a bill to funnel an extra $1 billion to Israel on top of the $3.8 Billion we already send them every year. You got a little pressure from your corrupt colleagues, changed your vote to “present” and then wept about it…literally. Is that what political “talent” looks like?
Israel was enjoying an economic surplus that year. We, on the other hand, were not.
As for cashing checks, I’d respectfully ask you to remember who pays yours. It’s the people you’re lying to right now.
