On behalf of the Halton Regional Police Service, we thank those who celebrated responsibly across the region.
HRPS worked in close consultation with @townofoakville officials and local business owners, creating a comprehensive plan, including enhanced lighting, clear signage, and quick response to any by-law infractions and unlawful behaviour.
Over the course of the evening, three teenagers were arrested in Oakville for minor offences including assault, trespassing, and breach of the peace.
Thank you to our community partners, business owners, and residents for their collaboration and shared commitment to public safety.
There will be an enhanced police presence at large public events across the region this weekend.
Unsafe behaviour such as misuse of fireworks puts everyone at real risk, impacting residents, homes, and businesses.
We will not tolerate disorderly conduct. Illegal activity will result in enforcement action, including tickets, seizure of fireworks, charges and arrests.
Public safety is a shared responsibility. Please celebrate responsibly.
