About half of residential fire deaths take place between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. Closing your bedroom door can help protect you from the spread of deadly fire, heat, and smoke while you sleep. Learn more from @FSRI_org at https://t.co/NIgRXzabTm. https://t.co/p6jctfUWe6

There are many tasks that Firefighters need to do quickly at a fire scene to save lives & property such as attacking the fire, searching for victims, venting hot gases, supplying water, & emergency medical treatment.
In Firefighting, there is no such thing as doing more with less
The study noted "The outer layer, moisture barrier, and thermal layers of the turnout gear all yielded measured concentrations of volatile PFASs that exceeded nonvolatile PFAS concentrations..."
The health and safety of our members is non-negotiable.

Just before 2 am last night, crews were dispatched to Genetti’s apartment building for a structure fire. Companies arrived to find fire out of a 3rd floor window of the 7 story building, with multiple reports of victims trapped.
Truck 6 rescued multiple victims via the aerial ladder and several other victims were removed via the interior. 2 hand lines were operated which made quick work of the fire and extension to the floors above. Sadly, one resident and several animals perished.
We are keeping Locals 734 and 964 in our thoughts tonight as they have suffered the tragic loss of three firefighters and a critically injured fourth at a building fire this morning.
The Officers & Members of @BCFDL734 & @officers964 regretfully announce the line of duty deaths of:
-Lt Paul Butrim
-FFPM Kelsey Sadler
-FFPM Kenneth Lacayo
Please keep their families in your prayers as well as the firefighter who remains hospitalized.
Did you know that modern fires literally produce tens of thousands of toxic chemicals?
They stick to our gear, clothing, & bodies. Firefighters absorb these cancer agents into our skin & lungs, greatly increasing our risk of cancer.
