@GaryPello @GregAFC That law was changed in 2017 after Italy’s clever exploitation of the rules. Now once the tackle is complete (there doesn’t have to be a ruck formed) there are offside lines and the gate exists at 90 degrees to that line at the extremities of the tackled player

Bang on. In Freeman & Earl England have two players with an amazing ability to get over the gain line and make post contact metres - but they can’t do that from 20m deep. You need Dingwall to read the defence at the gain line and put those two where the opportunities are
