@theRCN NICU staffing ratios by BAPM standards never met, 1:1 patients often 1:2 or even more, 9 qualified nurses to 28 babies in an intensive care and HDU settings, unsafe doesn’t cover it

As a children’s nurse, there is a huge emphasis on “never waking a sleeping patient” but this doesn’t seem to translate to adults.

I am a deep sleeper so wouldn’t mind my blood pressure being sneakily taken whilst asleep to savour some kip. As someone with epilepsy (on a ward for people with epilepsy) sleep is so important and needless to say, there’ll be yawning today 😂
