Legendary Coach & University Of Pennsylvania's Men's Basketball Head Coach Fran McCaffrey On Where TJ Power's Performance On Sunday Ranks & Power's Impact On UPenn's Program:

“This kid was a five-star recruit [in high school] I went to every game in the spring and summer before his senior year. I started recruiting him as a sophomore in high school, I knew how great he was, and he believed in me enough to come to here and play for me at Penn. I’m so proud of him, and so happy that he did. Not only is he a phenomenal basketball he’s an even better person. Everybody in [our] locker room loves him, everybody appreciates his leadership. The performance that he had on Sunday, and I had some great ones, I’ve coached the national player of the year, I’ve coached the fourth pick of the draft, I’ve coached lottery picks, I’ve coached multiple players of the year, not only did [Power] have 44 points he had 14 rebounds, and he scored in traffic [at the end of the game] to ice the game; and of course he made the three pointer to force overtime. He is just a special person, who has impacted our program in a huge way, and the minute he said, 'yes' [to join Penn basketball], I knew this was going to happen”.
