Scrapping School Sports funding will be disastrous for school sports. We use it to fund inter-school sports, extra swimming (we’re coastal)
This s will reduce opportunities for primary children. There is no money to cover this gap. Budgets already threadbare.
Over 90% of Finnish teachers remain in education for their entire careers.
Meanwhile, in the U.S., we struggle to keep 90% through the first year.
What’s the difference?
🇫🇮 Finnish teachers teach about 50% fewer hours—the rest is dedicated to planning, collaboration, and reflection.
🇫🇮 Students have multiple recesses daily to support behavior, focus, and well-being.
🇫🇮 Teachers are given autonomy at the school level, not micromanaged by endless mandates.
🇫🇮 There are limited evaluations—but unlimited trust in educators as professionals.
Until we start treating teachers like professionals, we’ll keep losing them and spending over $8 Billion a year replacing them.
Every year I play in a charity basketball game for @braintumourrsch after a friend and teammate Andi Peel died 2 years ago after a 3 year fight.
We’ve raised over £25k and hoping to raise even more in its 4th year, and any size donation is appreciated👇🏻

Bad Life Choices - play in the @MIKETUCK15 testimonial and I've been sitting on the bench for 8 minutes but still deciding to go for a reverse dunk at 41 is a great idea! Great fun though, good job Mike.
Which will allow @Con_Air11 to become the outright leader in league games played for @RidersBball, a record he currently shares with @Barry_lamble on 303
