@funkyjaybo A $900,000 home in #NewtonMA is not cheap. But a city council, which allows zoning for a developer to tear it down and build a $3 million mansion, is not progressive. The CC has facilitated the loss of our less expensive homes and the huge price growth
Two luxury townhouses under construction on Langley Road are rumored to be pre-sold for $2.5 million each. Theses out of scale structures tower over the street and lower our inventory of modest homes. #newtonma@rightsizenewton@DrRachelGeller
At Levingston Cove with City Councilors and residents discussing the balance between disability access and the environmental health of Crystal Lake. Further work is needed to develop a solution that works for everyone. #newtonma@DrRachelGeller@rightsizenewton
The voters on Marshall Street don’t like the traffic going down their street due the lack of a left turn arrow at the traffic light at the corner of Grant and Comm Ave. #newtonma@DrRachelGeller@rightsizenewton
At 29 Greenwood Street a historic landmark house built in 1722 was torn down by a developer breaking his word to the NHC. Speak out now by signing the petition to penalize the developer. Send your name and address to [email protected]@DrRachelGeller@rightsizenewton#NewtonMA
A developer is given permission to gut inside of historical 1722 house and “accidentally” tears down the exterior walls, but rafters saved. Proposed punishment is build an historic replica using new materials. This shouldn’t be. @DrRachelGeller@rightsizenewton#NewtonMA
While canvassing on Hartford St., the neighbors pointed out the ongoing natural gas link under the newly paved patch of street in the foreground. They are also disappointed that they can't get a speed limit sign to slow down traffic.
I stopped by library parking lot. City fixed a drainage issue & added 21 parking places and solar carports. They cut down 12 mature trees & eliminated the grass berms that would support more trees. Removal of the trees causes this area to absorb more heat. Was tradeoff worth it?
At Zoning Redesign booth at today's Juneteenth celebration told the way to create affordable housing was to allow 2 family homes to be built on single family lots. It costs around $1 million to buy a house. After tearing it down & building 2 townhouses it will not be affordable
Took a bike ride to City Hall. I saw that roads with potholes have only gotten worse over the past few years. Our infrastructure needs more attention. Streets need to be paved and sidewalks need to be repaired. Also funds are needed to properly maintain our athletic fields.
@realDonaldTrump Leave office and go to Florida. All you want is attention. You will tell incredible lies just to get media attention. You are really just a loser who has a knack for getting media attention, which you crave. Good riddance.
@foxrivertrekker @realDonaldTrump That's right. The only person telling the truth is Trump, even though his own 2016 election investigation into his loosing the 2016 popular vote turned up nothing. You've been conned.
