@WillSloanEsq Some great stuff and something of a return to form. "Slip Away" was a true Bowie ballad, and the title track has some nice sonic throwbacks to the Low era (including a Warszawa-esque synth ending).

@jl_zamith @nxd1979 And as for "grunge", it was essentially mid-tempo rock in drop-D tuning, and a label that most of the bands of the era (the ones that mattered in the end) hated. It was a marketing term designed to sell toques and flannel shirts.

@jl_zamith @nxd1979 Um, REM has never played a nostalgia tour. They broke up in 2011 and haven't toured since. If one is attempting authoritative pronouncements ("then you don't know rock and roll at all") it helps to have one's facts straight.
