@larabirdsnp@theSNP SNP scrapped fees but slammed a hard cap on Scottish places. Now Edinburgh & St Andrews have more foreign fee-payers than actual Scots. Qualified Scottish kids with straight As get rejected while internationals get in with lower offers.
That isn't 'free education' — it's a con!
@DJforEdS Scotland has real problems. Problems that need to be addressed but cannot and will not be solved by DARVO politicians (Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender).
At a time when division and tension in this country are on the rise, gaslighting is the last thing we need.
We as Scottish football fans, depending on our team, can argue all we want. Our opinions are fixed and won’t change. I don’t give a toss about Celtic fans opinion or expect them to care about mine.
The SFA’s problem is the rest of the world, with no stake in it, saw it too.
@ScottishFA Celtic and their fans feel there is corruption.
Rangers and their fans feel there is corruption.
The other Clubs and fans feel there is corruption.
Is removing all those currently involved in the SPFL / SFA and starting again better not the most logical step?
@ScottishFA DARVO is an acronym for Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender. It’s a common tactic used by manipulative people or organizations: when challenged, they immediately claim that they are the ones being unfairly targeted.

@robcsmorton@NeilMcCoyWard Because human beings love their own family more than inept Governments. I think the person who earned it has the right to leave a legacy for their bloodline if they wish a lot more than a Government has the automatic right to receive something they have not worked for!
Give it a rest.
Nobody on your front bench has ever run a business - you’re all lawyers, trade unionists and charity workers.
An entire front bench which is parasitic to real working people.
It’s no wonder you have utterly failed and everyone hates you.
You treat the money people work for like it’s yours to take and giveaway to whoever will vote for you.
Working people hate you.
The state pension is not a random government favour, it’s the back end of a 35–40 year compulsory “contract” where people are forced to hand over National Insurance on the clear promise of a basic pension at the end.
Politicians and think tanks helped design an unfunded, pay‑as‑you‑go system where today’s workers pay today’s pensioners, then have the gall to call it “unsustainable” as if the public dreamt it up.
If a private firm sold you a retirement product on fixed terms, took your money for four decades, then announced at 66 that you “didn’t really need it” and would henceforth be means‑tested or frozen, they would be in court for mis‑selling and fraud.
The crisis here is not pensioners “leeching off the young”, it’s a political class that built a Ponzi‑style NI system, diverted the proceeds for other spending, and now wants to default on the people who kept their side of the bargain.
You do not blame the victims of a defective product for believing the brochure; you go after the people who wrote it.
@Sazamatazz@DStacks72 "If you go by the stats" Labrador Retrievers: Frequently cited as the breed responsible for the highest number of personal injury claims and bites, particularly those involving postal workers. This is largely attributed to their status as one of the UK's most popular breeds.
@JohnSwinney Hey @Grok in response to the statement above by @JohnSwinney "My Focus is on what matters" how much has @JohnSwinnney spoke about "cost of living" and "improving the NHS" in comparison to topics such "Palestine" and "Transgender"
@afneil You may be correct in part but European Governments seem determined to weaken Europe on a daily basis. If that wasn't happening I don't think Greenland would be in this position. Trump sees Europe as weak and no longer worthy of respect, but thats not all his fault.
@EdwardJDavey Clowns like you as Politicians are the reason the UK and the West is the way it currently is. Britain can do nothing as Britain is nothing with the current crop of incompetent Politicians we have in parliament. We need to treat the disease not the symptoms.
Rachel Reeves is taking a lot of flak for being anti-aspiration, but she's really just the final nail in the coffin. People have been reconfiguring their lives for a while now, having given up on the basic British dream of buying a house, having kids and having a few nice things. There hasn't been any real point in saving for a house for about a decade now. Inflation outstrips savings, and even if you can cobble a deposit together, you're not likely to ever own your property outright when first time buyers are now in their thirties.
Meanwhile, given the wage compression caused by the minimum wage and mass immigration, there's no reason to push yourself to upskill because it doesn't result in a payrise. Outside of London there's a £40k cap on most skilled work, regardless of your skill level and experience. And if you get a payrise you end up earning less thanks to the tax system. If you can cut your spending, it makes more sense to go part time and enjoy more of your life with the people you love.
You could start a business but then you have to become babysitter and social worker for any employees you take on. If you have a side hustle that makes money, you're better off keeping it off the books. You'd be daft to pay taxes, especially when the state pension won't be there by the time you go to collect it.
The upshot of this is that people are slowly withdrawing their consent to be part of any kind of national collective. They will do what they can to survive, and do what they must to stay out of jail, but they won't meaningfully participate in a contributory society - especially when the chief beneficiaries are foreigners.
Reeves may well be the worst chancellor for some years, but she's just one of a long line of politicians who've set about strangling the life out of Britain and sucking the vitality out of the economy. It's been a long slow march towards economic oblivion ever since Thatcher.
If you work. If you aspire. If you save. If you ask for nothing and want peace and freedom to get on with providing for your loved ones, the British state despises you and will do anything and everything to take you down.
