This is actually insane. Ted Cruz showed that when you look up certain code words on Instagram, it'll give you results that "may contain images of child s*xual abuse" and you can click to see the results anyway. Why doesn't Meta simply remove this "content", ban the users, and notify law enforcement?

The algorithm enables child s*x predators to seek each other out and even entice victims.

Ted Cruz exposed Mark Zuckerberg with the finding, which he showed at the Senate hearing on social media influence. Zuckerberg tries to explain the rationale in providing the warning, which makes absolutely no sense, and then he refuses to commit the company to providing the Senate committee with details on how many times users (presumably child s*x predators) were shown the warning screen.

As with anything else, Meta tracks data on everything that happens on their platforms, so their refusal to provide it is inexcusable.
