UPI runs 24×7, ATMs work 365 days, and digital payments touch 14+ billion transactions a month ��� yet the humans behind this digital revolution still work 312 days a year. Something doesn’t add up.

Digital India has reduced 60–70% cash counters, but not reduced banker workload — a clear mismatch.
▶️ Mobile + UPI handle 90% of routine banking, yet staff are stuck in old schedules with modern pressure.
▶️ 6-day work = 47% more stress + 62% burnout, harming the people who keep digital payments running smoothly.
▶️ A shift to 5-Day Banking saves ₹5,000 crore (equal to 28+ operational days) — funds that can power digital infra, cybersecurity, and customer service.
▶️ Better work-life balance directly improves the Human Happiness Index — because healthy employees deliver better digital and physical service.
▶️ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐲: India’s digital economy is lightning fast, but its bankers still don’t get a two-day recharge. Digital India deserves digital-era work culture.
