@SPFLWatch Deep down I know he’s right, how can I watch sportsball all night just to wake up to be a wage slave. I wish I had a real job, like being an influencer who rants about vague self-help stuff on TikTok
@TheCatFromHouse@thotmikli@gayest_tone That’s a recent meme. Initially govs attempted to pass draconian laws regulating the internet, eg banning someone publishing encryption software he’d invented, forms of piracy, etc. Internet users fought strongly against this
@Feodaran@Milo_Edwards As a Scot I don’t get the pearl clutching. Do we just collectively forget what the ugly sisters of Glasgow say to each other every other week? I think during tournaments a lot of middle class Scots who normally don’t even like football just come out to pretend to be offended
@thotmikli@gayest_tone The truth is that Reddit, like the entire internet in the early days, was vehemently libertarian. It was an integral part of internet culture as a whole. As such, all opinions were allowed. Most people were normal back then so most opinions on Reddit were too
@BostonMassUSA As a Scot that’s pretty funny from the English. If you ever watched a domestic Scottish match you’d know the Scots also enjoy mocking tragedies. Football culture is not for sensitive yanks
@JDHibs My school had a someone who played for the S. Korea under 15s, and someone who played for Man Utd’s academy for a brief spell. Both of them were absolutely unplayable. Neither ever made it pro at any level. A national league player would run circles round this yakob
The current state of play after last night’s fixtures.
Tonight, we require:
Iraq to not lose to Senegal (unlikely)
Spain to beat Uruguay
Egypt to beat Iran
Ghana to beat Croatia by 2 goals and Panama not to win
If 3 of these happen, we are out
@HardCounte@sriramkiron@ledytoss Students are graded on clarity and grammar in all subjects, at least that’s how it was when I was doing my philosophy degree, but then, I didn’t go to a community college
