My peak SF experience: shipped a $100M credit line payment processor today, issued a real card, and tested it on a chicken sandwich. Then took a Waymo home. Here’s me verifying the ledger at the table :) nothing like swiping a card running on your own code.
Every Monday I'll publish a short essay.
As I leverage AI more and more, I noticed a drop in my creativity, clarity of thought and ability to convey messages in a succinct manner.
To remediate that I'm going to "manually" create, thinking what is worth sharing, how my thoughts formed and how to convey them in a simple manner.
Today, I published my first piece, on how to stop a car:) link in the comment
Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!
Just finished reading “The Art of Doing Science and Engineering” by Richard Hamming. Halfway through the book I already told my friend I wish somebody had given me this book early in my education, but I couldn’t clearly articulate why. Now I know why - Hamming is the first teacher (bar my mom) who has explicitly told me that I MUST be great. It sounds so simple - your job is to be outstanding in whatever field you choose - but I think adults, especially those teaching, could make a meaningful dent in the world just by telling kids that it’s their job to be magnificent, and that if they only try for long enough, they will be.
As you become an adult, you realize that things around you weren't just always there; people made them happen. But only recently have I started to internalize how much tenacity *everything* requires. That hotel, that park, that railway. The world is a museum of passion projects.
Today, we're introducing @lato_ai, backed by @ycombinator.
We are changing how investments are made.
Our first focus is commercial due diligence (CDD): currently private equity spends on a McKinsey report ~$500k which takes weeks.
To give you the scale: 36k CDDs were done in 2025, which is c.$18bn spent a year.
Based on 200+ experts calls and multiple studies over last 4 weeks our agents did, we know that:
1) Voice agents do better expert calls than people
2) Research agents find more relevant information and synthesise it systematically
With our approach we do research on any company or market in days at a fraction of the cost.
We already work with leading funds that push the frontier.

"The first transport of ice from the shores of the United States to the banks of the Ganges is an event of no mean importance ... the names of those who planned and have successfully carried through their adventure at their own cost, deserve to be handed down to posterity with the name of other benefactors of mankind."
