change your life in small steps, launch a business in small steps, expand yourself in small steps, do antything you want to do in small steps
there’s always a next step to be taken
Many situations in life are similar to going on a hike: the view changes once you start walking.
You don't need all the answers right now. New paths will reveal themselves if you have the courage to get started.
two working sessions of 90 minutes each are all I need. Simple formula: setting a timer, getting rid of all stuff other than my main focus, doing what needs to be done and calling it a day
unless you're a freak of nature, you only get ~3 hours a day of truly 'productive' work. don't waste the rest trying to squeeze out more. use it to optimise for tomorrow's three. clear your inbox. batch meetings. run errands. plan tomorrow. touch grass. sweat. be spontaneous.
@hermittoday body knows. all I needed was one session with TRE provider to restore the connection with my body. after that, body wants to shake as long as I give myself some space, attention and compassion
Simultaneously, take life extremely seriously, while also taking everything extremely lightheartedly as if nothing matters. Ultimately, this place is a playground. But that does not take away from the fact that there is real work to be done.
The key to success with ADHD is giving yourself ultimate freedom to explore your interests while building clever systems around everything else. Accomplishing normal tasks feels impossible but doing the extraordinary feels like play. Build your life accordingly
How can we trust the science when:
- Over 50% of studies can't be replicated (only 36% of psychology and 11% of cancer studies reproduced)
- Industry-funded studies are 2-4x more likely to report positive results
- 90% of published studies report positive outcomes and negative results are buried
- P-hacking is rampant (researchers run multiple tests until something "statistically significant pops up"
- Big pharma has paid billions in fraud fines for falsifying data
- Peer review is political, bureaucratic, and biased
There are a few psycho-techniques that are one button that you can hammer over and over again.
They have this almost fractal-like quality: you can apply them at meta levels and they keep improving things.
Here are some I’ve found 🧵
Levying strict constraints on yourself is #1 dumbest way to navigate life. Every path is maneuverable. Every situation workable. You can squeeze so much out of anything that your conditions effectively mean zero. Life offers infinite pulp.
My most contrarian belief is that we could make society 100% happier if people were encouraged to talk about themselves in 3rd person. It's crazy how much clearer George thinks when he's detached from first-person mode.
Istnieje też ciekawy trend ucieczki z miast i ponownej integracji z naturą.
One thing that changed over the years for me:
Before, I would make business & life decisions based on ideas I heard on podcasts, tweets, etc. Often, they were rash decisions, like giving up on an idea, switching strategies or hopping on trends.
But over time, I started to treat this information more like little data points rather than truths, and started to rely more on my own learnings actually building things.
I think this is super normal for people starting out, because when you have no experience... it's the only thing you can hold on to.
Good thing is this automatically gets solved after a couple years of building. So keep going.
