Against my will, I've now seen a few videos of the bus fire. One where it seems to have just started. Question is who the fuck stands there and films a bus catching fire. Second thought is why, when apparently they get hold of fire extinguishers do they not use them to bash in the windows? Doors are clearly not opening, fire is raging. People are panicking and can't use the extinguishers, so why not break the windows. Also, there are so many things wrong with this. The responsibilities:

1. The owner of the bus, who had it modified to run on LPG. His responsibility that it is in solid working order.
2. The company modifying the bus to LPG.
3. The driver, who when getting behind the wheel, is in charge of it working and being safe.
4. The school hiring the bus/driver, making sure it is safe.
5. The authorities and the general road safety measures, which no one - incl. government - seems to care about. No fucks given = 100%.

This bus should've been properly inspected, which I will almost bet my salary on that it wasn't. The re-built, was it inspected and done so periodically? If stopped by policy, would they have any idea what to look for as red lights?

What I do know and no matter who carries the main blame, this would not have happened in e.g. Singapore, Denmark, UK... name it... any country who takes road safety just a little bit seriously. 20,000 people die in traffic here every year and without a doubt this terrible, awful accident will not cause a minor burp and then it'll be pushed under the carpet and hidden away and everything will go back to normal. Right now it seems more important to get the photo opportunity and get in the media than actually doing anything.

At the same time the parents, who now - and god knows how they will manage - need to live their lives with nightmares of how their little kids burned to death. I don't know how I would be able to carry on if it was me. A parents worst nightmare.

I nearly ended in a traffic accident this past weekend with my kid and now this. No one here seems to care. It is appalling. It literally is appalling.

Sorry for the long post, I needed to get this off my chest. Now, I don't have words again. My heart truly cries due to these totally unnecessary deaths....
