Man, supposing you and I, escaping this battle, would be able to live on forever, ageless, immortal, so neither would I myself go on fighting in the foremost
@0x49fa98 The worst I ever felt that drop was reading Proust, and he had a little passage where a schoolgirl has to write a composition, and it was supposed to be a letter from Sophocles to Renan. And it was like the schoolgirl should know Sophocles as a matter of course.
@bronzeagemantis Hard time saying how this shift specifically happened. Sort of you see literature shift towards pop during the 20th, and then I think it’s basically displaced and you only see more academic-style literary works plus drugstore pop-fiction emerge
@captivedreamer7 Trudeau’s been on borrowed time since the trucker protest, this is likely going to be Pierre’s problem to deal with - probably Canadian recession regardless how well anyone negotiated with trump
@ItIsHoeMath I don’t worry too much about these people that seem stuck in the past or a vision of the past. It seems like something different better and more exciting is happening elsewhere. If Christianity wants to follow along, it’s welcome to.
@realWillSieck @FavelaOverlord As far as I’m concerned a stint as a waiter or bartender should basically be a mandatory draft for everyone online in this sphere (you can test out of the draft by demonstrating an above-competent ability to pull)
I will tell you what happened. It used to be that you could rent a drunk man canoe, he capsized, and drowned while you watched. A court would say you were in no way responsible for the man’s death: he chose to rent the canoe, and you don’t have to help anybody for any reason.
