#WATCH | Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir: Tehsildar Ishfaq Hussain says, "A major tragedy occurred in the Loran revenue village of Mandi tehsil, where a landslide caused the collapse of a temporary shelter (dhara). These shelters are typically used by our people who migrate to the 'dhokes' during the rainy season. Seven people lost their lives in this collapse. We have retrieved the bodies, brought them down, and, after completing the necessary medical formalities, handed them over to the rightful next of kin for final rites. The victims belonged to four families and comprised seven individuals in total, five adults and two children..."

Public Grievance Redressal Darbar Held in Mandi, Poonch to Address Citizens’ Concerns

The District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, organized a Public Grievance Redressal Darbar at the PWD (R&B) Guest House in Mandi. During the session, he personally listened to the grievances presented by members of the public and assured timely and effective action to resolve them.

Years of service, still on probation. JKAS 2019 batch officers have completed 5 years of service, far beyond the 4-year limit under SRO-386, yet remain unconfirmed. The delay isn’t their fault, departmental exams were never held, and even the CAT Jammu Bench has directed Govt to confirm their probation.
Despite clear rules and a court order, there’s no action. These officers have served J&K with sincerity.
Urging @CM_JnK to act on the Tribunal’s directions without delay — such prolonged inaction erodes morale, breeds corruption, and punishes merit.

Raised the issue of unfair treatment of Direct Recruit KAS Officers in the Assembly today. Due to changes in SRO 256 (2016), many junior officers from feeding services are getting promoted ahead of merit-based direct recruits.

Urged the Govt to restore the 55% quota for Direct Recruits, ensure seniority-based promotions, and protect merit in administration.
