Yeah there seems to be no way back. Blocking it, another company will release such a model. Even worse, another country. By allowing it only for US the same applies. You can only release it for everyone to keep ahead of the rest. Like you said, people with malicious intent will find a way.
Lesson for myself #2: Here's what no one tells you about going viral with a brand-new project:
Your costs scale faster than your income.
Hosting, bandwidth, email volume, all explode overnight. But ad networks haven't approved you yet.
Payment processors flag you for "suspicious" spikes. Affiliate partners won't touch a site that's a few days old.
So you ride the biggest traffic wave you'll ever get with almost no way to earn from it. And the peak never comes back. But, if you do it right, you'll build your email list and the authority for later.
I first tried full focus on one product. Its a b2b SaaS that works great for years now but it cost me so much time to polish. Now im at 8 new apps, and while im doing this im missing the focus i had with 1 product. I also think youll have deeper product understanding and value with more focus. But more projects is exciting though!
Had an idea. A few evenings of building. Small budget. No marketing.
May 5 to May 10:
1.54M users.
5.84M views.
And counting.
What no one tells you about going viral: a random evening decision suddenly becomes a responsibility. You have a role model function you never signed up for or even thought about.
Disclaimers don't protect you when screenshots get shared without context.
@aryanlabde I dont know what everyone is talking about. I have the 20 dollar plan and was able to work with it quite a bit since yesterday. Weekly on 25% now ๐
