Happy to share that the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India has formally approved Bongaigaon Medical College with permission to admit 100 MBBS students.

With this, Bongaigaon Medical College becomes Assam’s 15th medical college, taking our total MBBS seats to 1,925.

This is yet another significant milestone in our journey to transform Assam into a major hub of medical education.

My heartfelt gratitude to Shri @JPNadda Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, for his continued support and for granting this approval.

It is always a pleasure to meet Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt @nsitharaman Ji, who has consistently been a strong champion of Assam’s interests and aspirations.

Today, I briefed her on the #AssamFloodResponse, including the ongoing damage assessment and our roadmap to rebuild affected areas and restore livelihoods.

As always, she heard our concerns with great attention and sensitivity. I am deeply grateful for her positive response and assurance that the Government of India will stand firmly with Assam as we work to help every flood-affected family rebuild their lives.
