I’m not sure how people afford coffees and iced mochas/coffees everyday. Two days having coffees and they’d whacked me in the pocket man. They’re so expensive now. It’s cheaper to buy a mug of beer than it is to have a coffee 🍻
#StateOfTheEconomy 💸
I like how the @FijiGovernment doesn’t need a communications specialist like #Qorvis or #Vatis to do their PR work for them. Everyone just says whatever the fuck they feel 😂😂 not even the Ministry of Information can save them from themselves 😂
Na veidresuqanibulu levu! 😂
One day at Area 51, a radar tech spots a single-engine plane on final approach to the secret Air Force base.
The plane touches down and is immediately surrounded by armed guards. It is impounded, and the pilot is whisked off for questioning.
The pilot claims he had been flying from Las Vegas, got lost, and nearly ran out of fuel, so he put the plane down at the first runway he saw.
After extensive background checks, it’s proven the pilot isn’t a spy, and he is set to be released the following morning.
Before he leaves, he is given the “You didn’t see anything” talk and told that under absolutely no circumstances is he allowed to tell anyone where he was or what he saw. The Air Force fuels up his plane, gives him a proper heading back to Las Vegas, and sends him on his way.
Later that day, the plane is again spotted preparing to land at Area 51, this time with two people on board. When it touches down, it is immediately surrounded by guards again.
As soon as it comes to a stop, the man hops out and yells:
“Do whatever you want to me, but SOMEBODY has to tell my wife where I was last night!”
Charlie Charters again touches on the boundaries of free speech, government secrecy, and judicial review. This is the post-Bainimarama era, and the State is focusing on the source of his information rather than the tone of his rhetoric.
Progress has never and will never come from silence or standing on the sidelines. Find your voice. Speak, even when it shakes.
Question what doesn’t sit right, even when it scares you.
Do better, even if it makes you unpopular.
Change is not given its created. Happy IWD!
I wish journalists were as vocal about the state of our public hospital as they are about pageants!
Why isn't the Children’s Hospital lift installed, 2 years after this was promised. Find out why there is a shortage of everything in our health system! These matter!!!
I can report that the lights are working now, @fijitimes might want to check with city council if the pedestrian crossing on Brewster St. will take 40 odd years to fix?
Wait, since it is spanning a city street, @FijiRoads may be responsible, no maybe waterways?
Yesterday‘s #OperationSindoor debate meant that I could not fulfil my promise to my old friend Bhaichand Patel to launch his wonderful new novel, “Across the River”. I reached the venue after the PM had finished speaking, to find that so had Bhaichand and his other guests! I did pose with him and the book —and wish it all success.
Allow cash as an option but incentivize card use. If Stage 1 b/fare is $1.02 on card, make it $1.10 for cash. If kids get a subsidy on their cards, make them pay full fare, etc. Won't be long before it's all card, maybe in less than a decade. Problem is, they got greedy and petty
Fiji's education system faces a quiet crisis. Chronic underfunding and ill-considered policies compromise our children's future. Urgent action is needed. Read my and Ben Salacakau's @fijitimes op-ed: https://t.co/KEOcGC2eEX #TeamFiji#FijiEducation#EducationReformNow
