@KaliDoesGenes @sixeleven@ShanghaiHannah@moamohamud Yes! I'm mixed and the 3rd US-born gen so I've started answering honestly, meaning they have to ask back to great-grandparents to get 'Japan and Germany'. Or I ask "and you?". The hardest part of meeting students where they are at, is finding them. If you know anyone who can get the word to URM undergrads enrolled at US colleges/universities that could use a paid, virtual, summer STEM opportunity please email us at NSURP(at)arizona(dot)edu #NSURP2022
@academic_exit@madram88@AcademicChatter@PhDVoice @thephdpeople @PhD_Genie This! And start wherever feels easiest. If you hit a wall, jump to a different section. I had a doc where I dumped all my ramblings (some were just 1 sentence) and then a separate, more formal draft where I pieced things together.
@GLuft3 @chronicleflask Further/farther trip me up too.
I believe all major style (English) style guides now recommend a single space between sentences.
@RobynRobertsPhD@KevinCope18@ScienceWriters Thanks Robyn! <3 Sadly I don't get to write much about plants these days, but I can talk about careers in marketing communications and working in industry.

Dear friends - many of you reached out with words of solidarity and a question "what can I do?". Here are some (rather simple and straightforward) ways you might want to #StandWithUkraine: 1/4
Hey PhDs: Did you start a new job in the past year?
If so, tell me: What's your job title and field/industry/sector, and what was your PhD in & about?
Let's see just how much career variety there can be after a doctorate!
@samanthaiam As a TA in grad school, I had undergrads SHOCKED to learn that I had an Instagram account. I may have stress-shopped for wrinkle cream that night...
