The future of environmental conservation is right-wing.
The third world can't keep their parks and water clean, so stewardship of Creation is left to those who oppose unassimilated mass migration.
@GeorgeNada5w She didn’t get whatever she had from the Party. I can tell you that whatever she had was a list from previous election cycles because my household was getting mail addressed to my college aged kids who weren’t living here and weren’t delegates this cycle.
Michele Tafoya wrote an "An Open letter to Donald Trump" (blog post) on her Substack in November 2022 urging Donald Trump not to run for president again in 2024, and she publicly described it as begging him not to run.
"Middle Finger" to GOP endorsement
@redwoodcntymaps@AdamSchwarze Dude, I’m from Olmsted County. I know the culture. Credentials matter.
The independents here will think Michele is not qualified to be a US Senator. I tell them who Adam is in 10 seconds and they’re already impressed.
@halosniperrifle Agree. MN GOP candidates across the board better hammer the economy and crime until we're sick of it if they want to appear halfway competent.
Tafoya speaks well on trans in women's sports, but it's more of a side issue for the GOP base in this election.
Again, I reiterate: Michele Tafoya is a feet-of-clay candidate.
Huge celebrity name, gobs of money, very unimpressive campaign so far. She wins 1/3 of GOP primary voters in this poll. You can actually feel the desperation from the 64% of Republicans who want someone different.
Her biggest asset is that the large anti-Tafoya vote remains divided. Her strongest opponent, Adam Schwarze, gains voters easily, but only when people know who he is. He needs to make big inroads with Name ID and fast.
Due to this dynamic, Tafoya could win. That would leave us with a politically untested, money-propelled celeb candidate heading straight into a General Election. Still prone to making the same mistakes that should've been corrected in the primary. No proof that she can win pro-choice moderates if her persuasion game cratered with Republicans.
Her campaign is one big gamble. All-in. One spin of the wheel. Heavily at the mercy of national fundamentals and ads. Her weaknesses make her a stand-in for "Generic Republican" at best.
Against Peggy Flanagan, that might be good enough. Or it could fail dramatically.
What if moderating on just abortion and guns isn't enough? Every desperate pivot will repel conservatives/MAGA voters who are already lukewarm. And it could become a game of diminishing returns very quickly with true low info moderates too.
What if she melts under pressure in a hostile interview or on a debate stage? We have no clue what the chances are since she seldomly leaves her Fox bubble and refuses to debate in the primary.
I've said before I will only take the "Tafoya gamble" if I absolutely have to. Until that day comes, I'll resist being dragged to the table for a losing bet.
@NorthStarRight@BarbzNRoses For the record, since I haven’t kept track: has she ever (before or after the convention) been on a debate stage with other primary candidates?
Honestly, I might be willing to take that gamble if the real Tafoya resembled what she's supposed to be on paper.
So far, I'm not impressed with her campaign, the sheltered entitled behavior in the primary, or her flimsy credentials for US Senate. If she has some incredible ability to persuade people from her time in media, we've seen none of it since she failed the first key test, winning the endorsement.
I wound up backing Schwarze because I waited for Michele Tafoya to live up to the massive hype she had when she launched, and so far she hasn't.
If she's struggling this much with Republicans, I have no confidence she can win these swing moderates, if they even exist in the way her campaign claims.
Correct, but the Tafoya campaign claims abortion is the main barrier that prevents these swing voters from voting R.
I'm highly skeptical that's the case. In fact, it isn't clear what issues they prioritize, if there's a monolithic base of similar swing voters at all. Chasing center-left "moderates" in the suburbs is a losing game if that's what they really are.
That leaves two questions:
How liberal are these swing voters who usually break for Democrats?
What else will Tafoya have to moderate on besides abortion and how many conservatives/MAGA will it alienate as a cost? We probably saw a preview of this when she sweet talked the Dignity/Dignitad Act for amnesty and then walked it back after it caused a fury from conservatives.
This is why I've called her entire campaign strategy the Tafoya gamble. You're rolling the dice on an unproven thesis about the nature of these swing voters and how winnable they really are. If it backfires and you can't win them while also alienating MAGA/conservatives, the result is Winsome Sears in Virginia.
There are 2.4 billion Christians in the world.
There are about 2 billion Muslims in the world.
Christian states should stay Christian, even if they are not organized as such.
If that is not allowed to be said, if that is not allowed to be pursued, we’re going to have a much bigger problem on our hands down the road.
Spoiler alert. Might will make right.
Trump is having federal officials bust firms in Africa that organize trips to the US just so that women about to give birth can give birth and then the newborn is automatically a US citizen, due to America's archaic laws on birthright citizenship.
A cartel leader in Mexico had his wife come to the US just to give birth so his newborn was American.
About 100,000 Chinese do this every year, including many of China's elites. Such Chinese-Americans could, in future swing a US election. Firms in China get paid by Chinese moms to organize the trips.
