QUESTION: Pastor, aren’t you afraid that preaching what the Bible says about sexual immorality will cause people to leave the church?

ANSWER: No. I pray it leads people to repent of their sins and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. When the truth is preached, the Holy Spirit moves. And, some repent and are saved.

We cannot modify the Scriptures. They are true. And, all people everywhere need a Savior. So, how can they be saved if the pastors don’t preach?

Over the course of 27 years of being a senior pastor, I’ve seen plenty of people follow Jesus. I’ve also seen many reject Jesus. I do not do the saving. Jesus does the saving. It’s not my job to second guess Jesus. It is my job to faithful preach. It’s my job to protect the sheep from the wolf at the gate…and even from the snake in the pen.

Being a shepherd is an honor and a responsibility. I approach it with a sober mind and an urgency of heart.

When people reject Scripture and leave, I also do take comfort knowing they won’t be leading small groups or influencing the flock with false doctrine. The church is called to guard sound teaching, not accommodate sin (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

My greater prayer is that the Lord would send genuine revival, especially among Gen Z and our community, as people tear down every ideology and “vain imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5) and turn fully to Him.

So, we preach.
We give.
We pray.
We unify.
We serve.
We love.
We remain steadfast.

And, by God’s grace, people from every background will come to know the truth in Jesus Christ and be set free.
