A vile heretic Mālikī Ash‘arī judge, al-Akhnā‘ī [d. 750 AH], whom Ibn Taymiyyah refuted in al-Radd ‘alā al-Akhnā‘ī, had Imām Shihāb al-Dīn Aḥmad Ibn Marī al-Ba‘labakī [d. 750 AH] flogged, publicly paraded on a donkey, and exiled for declaring istighāthah impermissible.
