Left unsaid is the fact that the Defence Minister has to sign off on ADF personnel participating in US operations. Third country deployments require Ministerial sign-off.

I issued an FOI seeking Ministerial sign off related documents which was refused with a statement that Defence neither affirmed or denied the existence of documents.

The Admiral’s evidence strongly indicates that Ministerial directives should have been issued for the participation of Australian defence personnel in the illegal US/Israel war on Iran.

The Admiral said the instructions tell personnel what they can and can’t do. So why is there a problem in releasing those authorities if they are consistent with Government statements from time to time
and more broadly with our obligations under international law?

▪️100+ military personnel of Joint Task Force 633 stationed at the ADF Middle East Headquarters at Al Minhad Airbase in UAE

▪️50+ RAN personnel serving on US nuclear submarines, including in Middle East area

▪️Australian ADF personnel (number not disclosed) are embedded in the Combined Air Operations Centre (CAOC) of the forward headquarters of CENTCOM, the US Central Command at the Udeid Airbase in Qatar.

▪️85 personnel deployed to support the E-7A Wedgetail battle management aircraft operating out of Al Minhad base

▪️16+ personnel deployed with US’s Combined Maritime Forces at the US Fifth Fleet Headquarters in Bahrain

▪️ADF personnel deployed in support of the Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAMs) provided to UAE for use with UAE F-16 fighters

▪️Unknown numbers of SAS special forces soldiers as well as ASIS intelligence agents likely deployed to locations in Gulf area.

▪️E7-A Wedgetail battle coordination aircraft deployed to UAE and integrated with US military operations

▪️C-17A Globemaster transport plane deployed to UAE

▪️KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker midair refueler deployed to UAE

Canberra says Australia is “not involved” because it is not dropping the bombs itself. That is the usual deception. But modern war is not just the aircraft over the target. 

Australia is providing intelligence architecture, intelligence collection, communication systems, military intelligence specialists, and the political cover that helps support the illegal war.

In a globally networked world, it is the satellite feed, the launch detection, the target support, the command post, the battle management platform, the submarine signals, the refuelling base, the overflight corridor, the embedded officers inside the coalition forces. 

The country that provides those things is not outside the war, but is an intricate part of it.

The Americans have announced their new military command for Australia virtually completing their takeover.

OSGA, ‘US Oversight and Support Group-Australia’, will administer & coordinate the US’s military forces & bases in Darwin, Tindal, Amberley, Fremantle, Pine Gap, etc etc..
