@FRosevere @AlisonWright14@NEUnion@GillianKeegan I’m in both the unions and read the information coming through from the union. I’m expecting little support from members due to lack of support from management-they covered NEU strikers.
@KetamineMr @NickyLedger86 @simonharris_mbd Unfortunately teaching contracts state that a teacher must full-fill any additional work outside of the directed hours in order to do their job. The list of expectations for the job has lengthened so much that the job impacts on peoples work life balance like this is.
@Thecons84805161 @FakeHeadteacher I’d be up for both (NASUWT did vote on this). Sometimes it’s difficult in schools to say no and from what I’ve read, easier for management to say you’re not doing your job therefore …. disciplinary.
@teach_gb @MrsM44305838 @growteach I agree! It’s hard to move classes when you’re looking after kids. I also couldn’t be in school for the last two days as I had COVID.
@MrsM44305838 @BeeFlownFar@growteach Totally understand for parents but kids would still have those 5 days not in school anyway even if Inset days did not exist.
@MrsM44305838 @growteach I think they are quite a good idea for teachers, gives some training and a bit of prep time before school starts. Especially for those moving classrooms.
