On top of that I am not even sure a code audit would have found it.
How many audits do an extra check of the release tarball?
And how many would have found that a supposedly vendored script is actually malicious?
Y'all, it doesn't matter how overworked or underpaid the maintainer was. Virtually anybody I know would not have caught this. And, you only need one person to not catch it.
I was always joking that if your data is <1TB then you don't have a big data problem, you have a small machine problem.
Now LLMs are here and make the point.
Just rent an AWS machine with 320GB of GPU and 1.1TBs of RAM.

@codepitbull The paper for HDFS was from Google, and the design of open source apps has a chapter about ity readable online.
For ceph you should understand the CRUSH paper / algorithm.
The main difference: HDFS has centralised metadata per block while ceph has a distribution algorithm.
Heute: 7 -> 4 low risk exposures
@renepardon@basti_springer Your tests should probably test a long random password.
I had recently multiple sites that failed to handle a 32 characters random password
