TINUBU’S 30-DAY FUEL DISCOUNT IS A PANIC-DRIVEN PUBLICITY STUNT-ATIKU
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the Federal Government’s proposed 30-day fuel discount at NNPC stations, describing it as a desperate, temporary gesture that cannot repair the damage caused by the crushing cost of fuel.
In a statement issued by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Atiku said the Tinubu administration’s attempt to dangle a fuel subsidy as bait for Nigerians was reckless, disgraceful and scandalous.
He said the same government had watched Nigerians endure excruciating hardship without offering meaningful relief. Now, as the election draws closer, President Tinubu is dangling a temporary discount at the very epicentre of the cost-of-living crisis that has tormented households and businesses.
“Atiku totally rejects this calendar-scheduled, election-laced subsidy package. Nigerians are not fools to be offered a month of discounted fuel after years of punishing prices and then expected to forget the hardship when the discount expires. This is shameless and heartless,” he said.
Atiku said the proposed 30-day discount was not an economic plan but a political bandage on a wound the government had helped create.
“What happens on Day 31? Nigerians wake up to the same brutal prices, the same punishing transport fares and the same rising cost of food. The government cannot manufacture relief for one month and expect Nigerians to applaud while the hardship remains,” he said.
He noted that the offer is limited to NNPC stations, while the government has yet to state how much motorists will save per litre or guarantee that any savings for transport operators will be passed on to passengers through lower fares.
The former Vice President said the administration’s sudden reversal on this sensitive social welfare issue was itself an admission of guilt over the hardship Nigerians have endured. It also exposed the weakness of the government’s repeated claims that meaningful relief was impossible.
“This volte-face proves that the production-support proposal I have advanced is workable, achievable and not complicated. The Tinubu government and its spin doctors have tried to make it sound impossible, yet they are now reaching for a temporary subsidy-style intervention because the pain has become impossible to ignore,” Atiku said.
He reiterated his proposal for capped and budgeted production support tied to fuel refined in Nigeria, with safeguards to ensure that the benefit reaches consumers and supports local refining.
“Nigerians need lasting relief, not a countdown to the return of hardship. Tinubu’s government cannot spend years telling Nigerians to endure, then offer 30 days of relief and call it a solution,” he said.
Atiku restated his commitment to making life affordable again.
Tinubu made life expensive. I will make life affordable again.

I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.
Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.
In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.
I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.
This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasn’t cutting it for me.
I simply didn’t want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.
I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.
On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.
“Get the hell out of Shell,” I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.
In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.
It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.
Piece of advice: if you are a parent, watch out what the Finns are doing and copy them. It's one of the few countries that pays closer attention to their youth. They observe, study, and adjust all the time!
For example, they are now gradually reversing their decade-long, tech-heavy education model to combat declining cognitive performance and severe classroom distractions. Schools are scaling back on devices in favor of printed textbooks, handwriting instruction, and pen-and-paper assignments.
Let me tell you how it happened. Nigeria’s ginger export hit zero from N26 billion within 3 years.
The official story blames fungal blight.
But here is what actually happened. When Nigerian farmers lost their indigenous seed supply, grant-aided interventions arrived with replacement seeds.
An associate professor at Lagos Business School flagged publicly that some of those interventions involved GMO organisms that weakened indigenous crops and compromised soil health.
That is not a conspiracy theory because it is a documented academic concern.
Now that Nigeria spoke got destroyed by the GMO seedlings….what is not the result?
Nigeria was forced to import ginger from China to fill domestic demand. Chinese ginger has none of the pungency, oleoresin content, or quality that made Nigerian ginger a global premium product. And the ginger now sitting in Nigerian markets tastes like wood because it essentially is wood.
The two indigenous varieties that built Nigeria’s global ginger reputation, the Tafin Giwa and Yatsun Biri, had decades of soil relationship and quality built into them.
Once the soil was degraded and those seed varieties were displaced, the product that returned was a pale imitation. Nigeria did not just lose a market. It lost a seed. And without a National Ginger Seed Bank, which nobody has built, it may never fully get it back.
@PoojaMedia That is how the club is for a very long time. You know the reason Madrid released their starting XI an hour before the kickoff time? It stemmed during Mourinho's era when he accused the Madrid captain of being a snake, revealing information to the media unofficially.
“the group that stands out the most is second-generation Nigerian Americans. Their educational attainment exceeds all other racial/ethnic groups, including Asian Americans”
Take your work documentation very seriously.
Back in 2021, I joined a team where I usually sent client reports to this guy for review before forwarding them to the clients. Over time, many of those clients began to take a stronger interest in working with me, largely because of how I communicated with them.
At some point, I noticed something strange. whenever I sent reports to him, he would remove certain key details and send the edited version back to me to send to client, making it look like I had done a poor job. The first time, it worked and got me into trouble. But the second time, I was more observant. I compared the version I sent with what he returned and discovered exactly what he had been doing.
That experience taught me a hard truth: sometimes, you’ll encounter more harmful people in the workplace than your village.
So after complete obliteration of Iran and its military capabilities, USA and Israel have achieved the following:
1. Iran’s regime is still in place and is more hardline than it ever was before
2. Iran is selling more oil and at $100
3. Oil sanctions are no longer effective
4. Middle Eastern economies have been devastated and oil infrastructure damaged with medium term consequences
5. Israel is being pounded from three directions with considerable damage that has been suppressed by force
6. U.S. navy has run away from the Persian Gulf
7. Oil prices doubled.
8. Iran now controls 20% of world oil flows which may increase to 30% if Iran decides to close shipping in the Red Sea. (through Houthis)
9. Strait of Hormuz will remain under Iran’s control for foreseeable future.
10. Iran is likely to get out of NPT and develop nuclear weapons.
11. Trump has done so well in the war that he is likely to lose midterms.
12. Netanyahu who used to shamelessly roam around has been mostly in hiding
13. U.S. bases in the Gulf have been obliterated and Iran says U.S. must leave Middle East now
14. The world is likely to experience inflation and low economic growth in the next year.
15. The entire world opinion has changed in favour of Iran.
16. NATO and European allies have refused to participate in the war.
Thank you for your attention to the matter.
