Partners involved in exploring #CBIfeasibility of #basicincome pilots in Scotland have released draft final report into findings. While report recommends pilot goes ahead, recognises significant challenges involved. #basicincomescotland#CBIfeasibility https://t.co/mX1Ilop8wU
@DrSharonMcDill@BasicIncomeScot Our research concluded that whilst desirable to pilot a CBI in Scotland it is currently not feasible due to substantial challenges associated with institutional arrangements. The focus has since shifted to a Minimum Income Guarantee #mig https://t.co/0KAqLNWCkx.
Looking forward to being part of a Panel today as we showcase @BasicIncomeScot findings. Really proud of what our Steering Group have managed to achieve despite the challenges. Thinking back to BIEN 2018 in Finland when we were still at early stages of our work.

@CorynBarclay and colleagues in @BasicIncomeScot should be listened to before any #UBI pilots, experiments or other proposals are pursued anywhere in the UK. Seriously good and sober analysis of the barriers without Westminster cooperation. @cbinscot
You may have noticed that we have covered #UBI in a few of our blogs this week but it's also the subject of this week's pod.
Look out for a fantastic episode on basic income in Wales and the lessons we can learn from Scotland with guests @JRWill26 and @CorynBarclay coming soon!
