Paul said in Philippians 4, “I have learned how to be content whatever situation I’m in." He was saying, “Whether I have a lot or a little, whether people are treating me right or wrong, whether my plans have worked out or they haven’t, I’m still going to be happy. I’m still going to keep my joy.” Your happiness is not based on your circumstances; it’s based on a decision.
We wouldn’t know His power if we were never thrown into a fire. You wouldn’t know He was a healer if you never faced an illness. You wouldn’t know He could move mountains if you never faced a big obstacle. Quit complaining about what you’re up against; it’s not a surprise to God.
If you’ll start praying, “God, come in. Let me feel Your presence in the fire; show me Your greatness in this trouble.” Then you’ll have peace that passes understanding, hope when you should be distraught, joy when you could be discouraged.
The Scripture says, “God is not a man that He should lie. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?” God has never failed in the past and He’s not going to start with you. Stay in faith and stay open. It may not happen your way or on your timetable, but God is true to His word.
God is not obligated to bring to pass what we say, but He is obligated to bring to pass what He says. When He hears His promises coming out of your mouth, angels go to work, forces of darkness are pushed back, favor is released in a new way.
People may not be watching, but God is. Maybe nobody is saying thank you. You’re not getting the credit you deserve. But you keep doing the right thing, showing up on time, doing more than you have to. People may not see it, but God sees it. He’s the one who matters.
Heavenly Father,
When fear and anxiety fill my heart, remind me that You are near.
Give me peace in the middle of every storm and strength for every moment.
Calm my mind, guard my heart, and help me trust Your plan even when I cannot see the way.
Replace my worries with faith, my weakness with courage, and my fear with Your perfect love.
Lord, hold me close and let Your presence bring rest to my soul.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
