@apotheon@2ndATexan@SledgeTheTV I am almost compromised. I have to do everything super clean by their standards even though I never intended otherwise. heh.. they win either way. Keep fighting the good fight like our founding fathers did.
@apotheon As for the second paragraph, I don't think I do have an answer for that. I just also think that arms needs a limit. What about chemical weapons that make you a reckless danger to others simply by having them?
Slippery slope slips and then you get assault weapons bans, no grenade
@apotheon You already have me in the first half. Again, I'm also looking for dialectical rather than debate, and not tomfoolery for algorithimaxxing. The first paragraph is the most convincing brief argument for 2A verbatim that I've ever encountered. I'll probably use it.
chem arms tho?
@apotheon this cartoon changes a lot based on who the hand is coming from. Influence is often a very good thing, but much less frequently so for manipulation or coercion.
@Ungovernab1e@apotheon The algorithm doesn't award that. You have to become a social media jester to "build a following" in order to get engagement with the other algorithm seekers while it hooks you on its dopamine drips.
Nostr is built better, but its $btc following overcrowds most discourse
@BuenoForMiami People have to wear oxygen masks above 15,000 feet, so if you acclimated to that then it is definitely a big change to go back to sea level. I have never heard of this condition, though.
Theoretically you should only have higher blood oxygen though, right?
@apotheon Owning land is kind of weird. In its most stripped down version, it simply means an understanding of exclusive right over its usage. This is a lot easier, of course, when the land isn't in a popular place. But if you own a lake in an arid remote area, thirsty men care not.
@apotheon I wouldn't ever say it is "okay" but I do understand that it is inherent to the concept of "land ownership." In particular, the ongoing eternal contention that is apparent wherever it actually matters
@apotheon When it comes to owning land, it's ethically very murky, so I tend to focus on what is pragmatic.
Ultimately, a war lord in charge should mean less violence is required of you to maintain your property lines, as long as the war lord doesn't seek to strip you of them
