Thank you for everyone's contributions, involvement, and work, and hope that the report helps makes things better for the Government of Canada's public servants if/when such situations arise!
Glad that our federal task force's report re: "Strengthening [Federal] Whistleblowing Protection" recently became public, which involved lots of listening, reflection, thought, and discussion.

To get a sense of some of the issues, check out my in-house counsel chapter in Lawyers' Ethics and Professional Regulation (both the current 4th and forthcoming 5th editions) (https://t.co/GPeB40KVeN).
Thanks to Stephanie Lisa Roberts, Jennifer Freund, Spiros Vavougios, and Les Walden for joining me on this Legal Ethics Forum panel discussing the unique ethical issues and considerations that in-house counsel face! https://t.co/7SfcAQu1ME
I'm very pleased and excited to announce that I'll be joining the Lincoln Alexander School of Law as of July 1st! Thanks to everyone for your help and support to get here, and looking forward to being back in Ontario and contributing to the School and community where I can!
So I’m getting the @UNB-wide teaching award at Fall Convocation tomorrow - yay! 🥳It's a pretty big deal since there are a maximum of two recipients per year, and I’ve only been here since 2019.
At the Fall 2022 graduation ceremony, we will be granting Hereditary Chief Stephen Augustine an honorary degree, Dr. Ian Church and Basil Alexander teaching awards and Dr. Shelley Doucet a research award!
Congratulations on your notable accomplishments! 👏
We had the privilege of welcoming Chief Justice Richard to @UNBLaw yesterday. He gave a very engaging talk on appellate advocacy; a big boost for our 1L @UNBLawStudents as they prepare for their compulsory moot. Thanks to Profs. @basilalexander and @MayaHamou for organizing!
It's been great working with @richard__moon and @KerriFroc as coeditors on this project. The workshop was terrific, with deep discussions and lots of food for thought.
My add for this today will be "Taking Peaceful Assembly (2(c)) for Granted: Its Surprising Underdevelopment So Far and Contributing Factors to Overcome", which builds on some of my past peaceful assembly work. Looking forward to others' thoughts and how our work interacts!
Tomorrow, a group of us will gather for a workshop called The Surprising Constitution, thinking about ways in which the Const Act, 1982 has been, or will be, surprising. Thanks to @KerriFroc and @richard__moon for organizing with me.
We’re keeping the #UNBLaw faculty features coming — Prof. @basilalexander was quoted in the Telegraph Journal elaborating on the use of a court order by the province in an ongoing public safety case. https://t.co/pJPU8M5D8J
Want to know my thoughts on the past court orders and disclosing enforcement/legal costs in the #SaintJohn pastor/church #COVID19 case? Check out my views in https://t.co/n0y9zGy2if (@TJProvincial article) or https://t.co/Al3QsfEqOy (@CanadianPress copy) #ysj@UNBLaw
Late thanks to @cbanb_abcnb's Council for having me discuss last Thurs "Modern Ethical Concerns: Broader Considerations & Approaches for 21st Cent. Professionalism"! Hope it was interesting/useful to hear what I'm doing with @UNBLaw students & how that may be relevant elsewhere!
I'll present it during the fall Canadian Association for Legal Ethics conference in October at @LawLakehead, and thanks to @ACWoolleyYYC, Richard Devlin, and Brent Cotter for their helpful feedback and suggestions!
Includes my completely "new chapter on the ethical duties of in-house counsel, including materials, analysis and problems related to the unique ethical challenges and specific ethical responsibilities of lawyers employed by their client". 👀
Now available for pre-order: Lawyers' Ethics and Professional Regulation, 4th Edition by Alice Woolley, Richard Devlin & Brent Cotter. This comprehensive text discusses the professional responsibilities of lawyers in Canada. Order now. https://t.co/z5mRR8O07c #legalbooksLNCanada
