Under capitalism, socialists are free to build socialism.
Under socialism, capitalists aren’t free to build anything.
Nothing stops a group of socialists pooling their money, forming a company, and splitting every wage and every pound of profit perfectly equally.... Or to donate all profit to the government.
It’s legal. It’s easy. Owning the means of production is as simple as setting up a company.
Marx wrote his manifesto before the invention of limited liability companies. Back then “seize the factory” meant seizing it from the handful of families who could afford one.
That argument expired the day anyone could start a company with limited liability, raise investment and hire who they want.
Socialists are free to lead by example and demonstrate their system works. They can out-recruit, out-motivate, out-build and out innovate based on their ideas if they like. It would prove the philosophy works. Capitalism will happily host their experiment.
The fact that nobody does this tells you a lot.
I will soon be introducing a bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in the largest AI companies in America.
This would guarantee that the trillions created by AI are used to improve the lives of all of us — and block oligarch decisions that harm the American people.
Warren Buffett: "The bottom 2% in terms of income in the United States, the bottom 5%, and for sure the top 1% all live better than John D. Rockefeller was living when I was six years old."
"John D. Rockefeller was the richest man in the world and, today, you can get better medicine, better education, better entertainment, better transportation. You can do everything better than he could."
"When I was born, the dentist didn't use novocaine!"
India is the great natural experiment in plant-based eating, and almost nobody wants to run the numbers on it.
It is the most vegetarian large country on earth, hundreds of millions of people, many vegetarian from birth. Grain at the base, pulses, vegetables, all cooked in vegetable oil: the government Eat Well plate, run as a national experiment for thousands of years.
The result. Around a third of its children are stunted, the largest share of the world's stunted children of any nation. The Indian Dietetic Association reports 84% of the country's vegetarians are protein deficient, against 65% of its meat eaters. And the nation that eats the least meat is the diabetes capital of the world, with over 100 million diabetics.
Before anyone blames poverty, a Journal of Nutrition study found a vegetarian mother predicted stunting across every wealth bracket, rich families included. The diet was carrying its own weight.
Bioavailable iron, zinc, B12 and complete protein build a child's skeleton. Strip them out and it comes out smaller. The animal fat, meanwhile, got swapped for refined grain, sugar and seed oil. India is now the world's biggest vegetable oil importer, per-person intake tripled since 2001.
The diet sold to the West as optimal human nutrition has been run here, at the scale of a billion people, for longer than the West has existed. It did not produce optimal humans. It produced the largest population of stunted, diabetic, protein-starved people on earth.
People are overthinking the 32 BTC sale.
“Why sell?”
“Why not just buy less next week?”
“Is this bearish?”
Michael @saylor already explained the logic:
• If Bitcoin can’t be sold, critics say it has no value.
• If it has no value, the balance sheet value is zero.
• If the balance sheet value is zero, credit rating agencies ignore it.
• So you sell a tiny appreciated portion to prove Bitcoin is liquid, valuable, and real.

Puis arrive Milei. Méthode inverse, brutale, assumée : on coupe, on déréglemente, on arrête d'imprimer.

@agingroy I'm not sure about that. Carb preference is about tumor growth, not carcinogenicity. Warburg effect isn't known for preventing tumors, just stunting their growth/starving them.
GLP-1 drugs, like Ozempic and Mounjaro, keep doing things in places that have nothing to do with appetite. Bladder cancer is the newest.
In high-risk early bladder cancer treated with BCG, patients who happened to be on a GLP-1 were 57% less likely to progress to invasive disease, and 35% less likely to die of any cause. Almost 1,600 patients, matched head to head.
Read the fine print before you celebrate. This is propensity-matched data, so it’s a strong association and the randomized trial hasn’t happened.
Then the strange part. The tumor recurrence rate didn’t budge at all, only the progression and the deaths did, which is a real clue about how a hunger drug might be touching cancer at all.
You want the 66 IQ doctor. He'll write you anything you want. This is biohacking 101. Your doctor is merely a vessel for drugs and labwork that you can feed into chatgpt to find out what's actually wrong with you. You don't want these guys thinking too much.
OFFICIALLY SIGNED: New York just banned online sales of CNC machines, lathes, and 3D printers. Required surveillance software on every one.
And there's a bill in committee to require a background check to buy them at all. Look around you at who didn't fight, or who ONLY appeared to fight once they saw my video views pouring in. 🤔 Video soon!
Sharing here the message I just sent to the whole Wix team:
Today is a sad day for me. We have made a very hard decision.
We are reducing the Wix team size by roughly 20%. It is one of the hardest decisions I have had to make, but I am confident it is the right one, and I will explain why.
Before I go into anything else, let me say - this is a very hard decision because I will be saying goodbye to many people who have worked with me for years, many whom I call friends, people I trust and respect, friends who poured their energy and talent into Wix. Team members I know personally, and team members I never had the chance to meet, but whose commitment and contribution I have witnessed.
So thank you. Thank you for the effort, for the talent, for the passion, and for the friendship.
We are doing this as a company-wide change, a decision that will impact the entire organization, driven by how we need to operate going forward.
Why are we doing this?
The first reason is the Shekel/Dollar rates. In the past few quarters the exchange rate between the Shekel and the US dollar has shifted significantly as the Israeli Shekel strengthens against the US Dollar almost every day. As the majority of our teams are Israel-based, a very meaningful portion of our costs are shekel-denominated, while our revenue is largely dollar-denominated. This creates a structural pressure on our ability to operate at our current scale. It is a reality that directly shapes what is sustainable for our company.
The second stems from the fast evolution of AI capabilities. We have witnessed the most significant shift in how companies are built since the invention of modern programming languages in the 1970s. This is not just about adopting new tools - it is about rewiring how companies are built, how they think, how they manage and how they operate. Companies that embrace this change will not only build faster; they will build things the previous generation literally could not have imagined.
We are already taking concrete steps in this direction. As you know, we've recently introduced new roles like Xengineer and Creators, designed from the ground up around AI-native ways of working, a meaningful step towards the kind of company we are becoming.
It also means we need to become a faster, leaner, and flatter organization. We are moving to a structure with fewer levels between any member of our leadership and the most junior person on the team. Fewer layers means faster decisions, clearer ownership, and less distance between the people setting direction and the people building the product - but it also means a smaller number of people.
It is clear to us that in this new era, companies need to make this change in order to lead and compete or risk falling behind.
We are choosing to compete.
It is a painful change, a change that touches the lives of many, but I truly believe we have no other choice - we must evolve.
To those of you who are being let go
I want to once more say: Thank you.
Those who are affected will be contacted in person, directly, and we will do everything in our power to handle each conversation with sensitivity, respect, and the care you deserve, you will also be granted personally curated separation packages.
Many of you have given years to this company and built things we are genuinely proud of. I am personally grateful for what you've created, for the culture you've shaped, and for the trust you placed in us. More than anything, this decision was about the shape of the company we need to become. We own that - and we own the responsibility of supporting all of you through what comes next.
To those of you who are staying
What happens in the next few days matters. The people leaving this company are your colleagues, your friends, people you've built things with. They deserve to walk out of here with their heads held high, knowing that their work was real and that we recognize it. Please treat them with the respect they've earned. How we say goodbye says as much about who we are, as anything we've ever built together.
Our broader commitment
Before anything else, our commitment is to our users - to make the hard decisions so Wix continues to be the company that helps them succeed. We work for our users.
Millions of people run their businesses on Wix. Their world is also changing, also uncertain, also shaped by the current shifts. They rely on us - our reliability, our innovation, and our commitment to their success.
The responsibility does not stop with our users - behind every Wix shareholder is a real person whose savings, pension, or investment is tied to how we perform. We take this responsibility very seriously.
If we do not make this change, we will be failing our responsibility to our users, our shareholders, and our employees. In the long run, what is best for our users is best for our employees and best for our shareholders.
Today's decision was made to ensure we are here for our users and our shareholders, you among them, stronger and more capable, for years to come. We are doing this today because we are committed to building a company that is healthy, durable, and positioned to lead.
We will come out of this faster, stronger and better equipped for this new era.
