IOOA deeply shocked and outraged by the tragic incident involving IOCL officer Shri Mahesh Shelke Annarao, Manager, Nanded, Maharashtra, who lost his life while performing his official duties.
Violence against an officer of a public sector organisation is absolutely unacceptable. IOOA strongly urge MoPNG, IOCL Management and the Government of Maharashtra to ensure a swift, impartial and time-bound investigation and arrest of the perpetrators within 24 hours, subject to due process of law.
The bereaved family must receive immediate support, and the safety and security of all officers serving the nation must be ensured.
There must be zero tolerance for violence against oil company officers performing their duty. Justice must be swift, firm and exemplary.

Several countries around the world face severe energy crises, but India has been able to face the challenge and continues interrupted supply of affordable and sustainable energy to 140 million citizens under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.
India is the only country in the world that has not increased petrol and diesel prices for four years.
My advice to those who are celebrating what they perceive to be a difficulty, is to stop rumour mongering and cut the politics. India’s energy consumers face no crisis. Much to the disappointment of the naysayers, India’s energy sector is fully secure and robust.
Even as geopolitical events unfolded, India was fully prepared with coordinated energy management at scale.
We activated a whole-of-government energy security mechanism through Operation Urja Suraksha well in time to cover sourcing and ramp up domestic production and refining.
Our LPG production was increased by 50% from 36 TMT/day to 54 TMT/day while demand moderation measures reduced LPG consumption from 90 TMT/day to nearly 70-75 TMT/day.
Alternative fuels such as PNG, kerosene, biomass and RDF pellets were activated. PNG expansion was accelerated under the Natural Gas and Petroleum Products Distribution Order, 2026 under which 9.16 lakh PNG connections have been added since March 2026, the period when some say there was a ‘crisis’!

#WATCH | Chennai, Tamil Nadu | Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Arvinder Singh Sahney says, "The petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, these are having no problem at all because our refineries are working almost 100 % and more than 100%. We are able to source crude from various geographies across the world. We are not facing any problem whatsoever with these liquid fuel products for automations, including the aviation field also. In the context of LPG, we are in a situation wherein we are able to very nicely satisfy the requirements of all our domestic consumers because we have given the topmost priority to the domestic consumers...Today we have taken a decision that we are going ahead with giving 70 per cent of the actual, which was being given previously, will be given to the commercial installations..."
6000 PNG consumers surrendered their LPG till yesterday! A big thanks to them!!
